Juan Gonzales interviews Lawrence Lessig who wrote for The Nation on losing our Democracy here is what he is saying. “At the center of our government lies a bankrupt institution: Congress. Not financially bankrupt, at least not yet, but politically bankrupt.” He goes on to argue that, “Congress is the core of the problem with American democracy today. In a single line: There will be no change until we change Congress.” Read the Interview

The GOP which pretends to be a “big tent” party despite apparently contradictory evidence is seeking to co-opt the tea party for its own political reward. You notice Michael Steele’s commentary that (paraphrase) “we have got to work together to vote down Obama’s agenda.” Where are the proactive statements? How do you reduce the deficit by trimming taxes? How do you fix the health care issue? While I am very irate at dems in congress and, to a certain extent Obama and his advisors, for not being more aggressive in getting the facts out, I also think that while the repubs have won momentum by general opposition the tide is about to turn. You have to promote ideas backed by empiric data that are good for the nation
Bless you.. Yet one more quality post, surely why I return to all your blogging site usually…
